3D puff embroidery gives your designs a premium, raised look that instantly stands out on caps, jackets, and hoodies. A layer of foam is placed beneath the stitches, creating a three-dimensional effect that flat embroidery simply cannot replicate.
A piece of foam is placed over the garment where the design will be stitched. Satin stitches are then sewn over the foam, compressing and covering it to create a raised, three-dimensional effect. When done correctly, the foam is completely hidden and the edges are clean and sharp.
Bold, simple shapes with clean edges work best. Fine detail, thin lines, and small text do not puff well — the foam cannot support tiny elements cleanly. Large, blocky letters and simple logos give the best results.
At A Plus Digitizing, 3D puff digitizing is included at no extra charge on all plans. Our specialists have completed tens of thousands of puff designs — every file is engineered to avoid these issues.
